Thanks for the link, Maia. When explaining my love of MMOs to colleagues, I often describe them as "playable narratives." That phrasing tempted one professor in my department to buy GW2.

Nice! I'm going to have to try that one. Mostly I get strange looks when I mention gaming to people who don't know me well, assuming I say anything at all. I typically blame it on gender (most people don't expect a middle aged woman to wax eloquent on video games), but perhaps I'm just not being persuasive enough.
