Bushmaster Squad Raids

Hey folks,

I think it might be a good idea for Bushmaster to take a break (or call it quits if that's what we decide). We've had to work pretty hard to have fun lately. I know a healthy portion of that has been the atmosphere that I've been instrumental in shaping. Sorry for that.

Suffice it to say, I haven't been having a lot of fun during raids on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and it's clear that's true for lots of others in the group. Starting next week, the schedule is going to get a lot harder to maintain for a month or more--folks traveling for the holidays, etc. Maybe we can take some weeks off and revisit the endeavor in the new year Or, if it's preferred, perhaps it's time to fold up bushmaster.

I definitely enjoy raiding, and would be very happy to raid with any/all of you anytime. I love it! I've had a blast! But I don't think I should be leading it anymore. If anyone else is interested in organizing another raid group or re-consolidating this group, that is great. I'm happy to participate in any way, even if that includes not raiding. It's been fantastic raiding with all of you--some of you for a full year (!); thanks for everything.

I expressed these words to Mold earlier, but I want to say them again: I cannot thank you enough for everything you've done to keep Bushmaster going. I know it took a lot of your time and energy and it will always be appreciated.

I know it may be disappointing to hear, but I think the idea of a break comes at a natural time here, especially given the holidays. This is a busy time of year and if history serves to repeat itself, we had a similar lull in activity last year. But, I'm also aware there are broader issues at play and we should continue to discuss these things. A break will afford us time to think and weigh those concerns properly.

I've made so many treasured memories with this fine group, and I don't want that to ever end. I'm looking forward to hearing each of your thoughts in the time ahead. 

Hi all.

I know I'm a relatively new member of the group, so I hope no one takes offense at me chiming in here.

First, I wanted to say that the thought of not raiding with you guys makes me inexpressibly sad (I'm actually tearing up a bit right now). I've enjoyed the raids I've participated in with you guys so much. It's given me something to look forward to in the rough patch I've been going through. I want to say "thank you" to everyone for that.

Second, I want to echo Ser's words about Mold's leadership. I think we all share responsibility for the atmosphere, just like we all share responsibility for turning it around (myself included of course). Additionally, I hope If we decide to take a break and reconvene that Mold will consider leading us again.

Finally, I agree that with the holidays coming up a break may be beneficial for the group. I know I haven't been the reliably attending member that the  group needs (I apologize to everyone for that), and I know Thanksgiving and Christmas will make it worse. I think a break will be refreshing for those of us who are getting bored or frustrated with the content. I hope that we'll find "absence makes the heart grow fonder" and there is interest in picking up again in January to revisit old bosses and prepare for (and tackle) new ones. 

I know I'll be ready. 😀

PS I won't be able to make it Tuesday. My family is invading my house for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately that means they start arriving Monday afternoon (no joke) ☹️

Heya!

I think a break is a good idea, things are getting pretty busy for everyone this time of year, myself included. Just want to say thanks to everyone, especially Mold, for the great times raiding, and I hope we can re-assemble the group sometime in the future.

I will be out this week unfortunately, I will be on later tomorrow though (around 9:30 est.).

I agree with everyone else, maybe while we are going through this holiday season we can try to raid but if we don't have enough people we can do dungeons or other content too. I would be willing to try to learn how to lead raids if you want to take a break and i can try to make a character that can tank for the first two fights in the 1st raid wing. I really do enjoy raiding and I will do my best to help out however I can. Mold I really do appreciate you leading us all the time, and I understand you concerns. Raiding has been a lot of fun for Micaiah and I over the last year and hopefully we can find a good compromise for everyone. If you need anything please let me know. Thanks again - Siren

I will try to be leading raid night on 11/29 (skipping thanks giving) if anyone can show up please sign up, and lets see what we can do! I will do my best to lead, but to be honest we might die because of my lack of experience, but I will do everything I can to help us be successful. If we don't have enough people can try to work on other content. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for many kind words. I'm sure we'll find ways to enjoy each others' company down the road. I look forward to that! I'm going to revise the guild MotD to note that Siren will be gathering folks for a "do something" night on Tuesdays and Thursdays after Thanksgiving. As she says, we can raid, or we can try other content. See ya'll soon, and enjoy Thanksgiving (except for Sun, who is not allowed to).
