  1. 1) I like the idea of pushing it behind us i.e. where we just were

    2) I am a strong believer in having a plan B for mechanics which are often problematic.  Right now I would say that's tricky walls, and add dying on group and condi bombing us.

    3) I have a soulbeast but I don't know how to drive the thing.  Happy to swap to that however.

    4) If the boss is faced inwards, and the group positions between the boss and the outside of the platform, this might alleviate unintentional cleave damage, especially if people are careful about where they place / angle their fields.

  2. I started writing a novella here but I am just going to cut it down to this single most useful thing:

RECORD AND REVIEW YOUR GAMEPLAY.  You can use free programs to do this and nobody else has to see you play.  Ask me for help setting up.

p.s. also review the raid logs

  3. I'm working out what build to use for Deimos kiting on a Druid.  I think it should be pretty ezmode with Greatsword and Sword / Warhorn.  Can get a lot of damage reduction and perma regen.  Sounds like we probably won't be working on this tonight though.  Also, if anybody else really wants a crack at this role ahead of me then by all means go for it, it's not like I am investing in new gear for this.

Couple of interesting notes from pickup snakes last night.

    1. We used a two-reaper strat for Mursaat overseer, and it was glorious. The log for that is attached. If you compare that to our previous kill (also below), notice the difference with the Jade Scout hits. The 2 scouts did almost nothing before they were dead, and we only had to face 2 because the middle two never made it to transform. Easy mode.

    2. And I was thinking a bit about Xera and the issue of add control. Take a look at the overall vs. boss damage for the condi rangers vs Odd's old-timey fire-staff ele. Odd was carrying us for add control, and the different was VERY noticeable when he got ported for mini-games during the last phase. The great condi ranger damage was a big part of why we got that particular kill, of course. I'm just not sure what the right balance for single-target and aoe damage is.

If you look at 2/25 numbers here, Odd carried add DPS even harder on Engi with 22k, while still doing 2k higher boss DPS.  This makes sense given that Engi bomb auto hits really hard and hits 5 targets, to say nothing of the other AoE they bring to the table.  Plus this brings Pinpoint Distribution for the Ranger(s), several AoE blinds (including a blinding field with Smoke Bomb), and decent breaks.

It sounds like swapping in a strong add clearing class for one Ranger might reduce the RNG factor when it comes to minigames and add management.  This could be Engi, Fire Ele, FA Staff, Sc/WH, or even D/WH Ele.  I overestimated how well Rangers would clear adds, but it makes sense now -- they have a lot of AoE damage, but because it's part of the rotation it might not be available when you need it.  Ranger and any form of Ele are also heavily subject to alacrity uptime while Engi is not so much dependent.

TL;DR = swap one Ranger for a strong add clearing class like Engi or Ele and we may win more reliably

  5. Regarding wiggling in rain phase, I think the movement metric is less important than a 'how many times you get knocked on your ass metric', which we probably don't have.  I wiggle after almost every bomb-spread to reset my stacks.  Maybe every other bomb spread idk.

EDIT: just looked at the raw stats, see what you mean.
